Kids cartoons
The effects cartoons have on young children is much more than just entertain them. The cartoons, especially in the case of children that watch TV a lot, provide them with some lifestyles and behaviors that children tend to reproduce. Therefore, what your child watches on TV is quite important and you should pay attention to this aspect.
The age of the classic cartoons seem to be over, as most of the new ones display too much violence, which the child then starts to consider it to be normal. This kind of cartoons makes the children more aggressive and more likely to get involved in a fight. However, there are some cartoons that are enjoyable to watch anytime and at any age.
Of course, among these we can consider to be the first the famous Tom & Jerry which make you laugh even though it is the one hundredth time you watch an episode. From the same category come Dexter’ s Laboratory with the well known line “What does this button do?” by Dee Dee. The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby Doo (although the last ones can be quite scarry for some children) are part of the cartoons that have made generations of children happy and still are entertaining.
Nevertheless, some more recent such as Sponge Bob have met with success and the world displayed by these is just mesmerizing. Children seem to love the secrets of the ocean life and all the adventures of the marine hero. Fairly Odd Parents are some new cartoons that, beside being hilarious in some moments, also give your junior some life lessons. The main character of these cartoons is Timmy Turner, a ten year old boy who has two fairy godparents who can make every wish come true. However, the result is rarely the one expected and the boy learns that he has to work for what he wants.
Robot Boy follows the life of a robot that is given some intelligence and he also gains some human feelings. He has a human friend, a boy that has to teach him how to behave as a normal boy and what is expected from a human to do in each situation. Apart from the occasional fights, these cartoons also prove to be educative.
Of course, there are the cartoons made by Disney with the characters already known from the books. Ariel, Peter Pan or Princess Sissy are always pleasant to watch. New cartoons like Phineas and Ferb take the imagination to the next level, but also present some knowledge that is welcome when it comes to children.
The nowadays cartoons are a little bit different from they used to be 20 years ago, but there still are some that are more than appropriate, even educative for children. Parents should be careful of what runt on TV while the little one are in front of it and make a selection of the cartoons that should really be seen. What is more, the amount of time children spend watching TV should also be considered.
